Rams G Saffold Undergo Shoulder Surgery & Philip Rivers May Require Back Surgery

Rodger Saffold has to undergo for his left shoulder surgery next month which was definitely one of the obstacles he had to face throughout this year. Before the season finale at Seattle, Saffold candidly said that “I want to get it done as soon as possible”. The surgery will take place on Jan. 7 in New York and will not be done by Rams physicians.

On Monday, The Colt’s coach Chuck Pagano said that he had anticipated having most of his injured players back this week for playoff game against the Bengals. He remarked, “Yeah, and I think you’d love to be 100 percent from a health standpoint,” Pagano said. “We’re not 100 percent. You’re never going to be at this time of year. We’re hopeful to get the guys that I talked about earlier, get them back and get them back on the field.”

Philip Rivers isn’t sure if he needs back surgery again or not. He remarked, “I can’t rule it out but it’s too early to know,” after the Chargers’ season ended with a 19-7 loss at Kansas City. Rivers had been noticed for the injury report in recent weeks as he was having chest and back injuries. Reports have also cleared that Rivers had a bulging disc in his lower back.
